We are located around an 8 minute drive from junction 23 on the M5 and around a 25 minute walk from Bridgwater town centre.
Parking
There is free parking available in the Invictus gym car park for you.
On Saturday's you may also park across the road if the Invictus car park is at full capacity.
Toilets
We have access to the toilets in the gym.
Men's toilets are on the ground floor, however, the women's toilets are up a flight of stairs.
In store
Our range of books include literary fiction, romance, fantasy, crime/thriller, historical fiction, classics, non-fiction and social justice. We are always working on expanding our collection and suggestions/requests are always welcome.
Please note we are a predominantly second hand bookstore so we may not have the exact book you are looking for. However, if there is a specific book you are hoping to find please as and we will do our utmost best to source it for you.
Our books range from £1-£15 depending on if they are brand new or pre-loved.
We also have a range of candles, pin badges, fidget toys, natural toiletries, bookmarks and more.
We accept cash or card (currently via contactless only).
Dogs are welcome.
Donations & Loyalty Scheme
We are always grateful for donations of books, specifically adult fiction (any genre). You can bring them into the shop any time we are open.
We have a loyalty scheme where you can collect a stamp every time you buy books and when you have filled your card you get a free book - be sure to grab a loyalty card next time you're in store.
We also offer a similar scheme for donations brought in - you can collect stamps on the reverse of your loyalty and once full you will receive £10 store credit.
Inclusivity Promise
We want The Book Nook to be a safe inclusive space for all and we are dedicated to providing that for our neurodivergent, disabled and LGBTQIA+ customers.
Our shop owner and head bookseller Georgia is autistic, ADHD, chronically ill and queer with a passion for social justice.
Neurodivergent & Disabled Customers
You will not be hassled during your visit and you are under no expectation to interact with me in small talk if that is uncomfortable for you.
You will not be judged or asked to remove noise cancelling headphones; your comfort is paramount.
We recognise the sunflower lanyard scheme.
If you are nervous to visit please send me an email or a message on Instagram and I will happily answer any questions you have or send photos/videos in advance so you know what to expect.
Music is played at a low volume but please don't hesitate to request it be turned down or off if it is too overstimulating (same for the lights).
There is seating available in the shop if you need to sit down and rest at any point.
Talk bookish to you soon!
